About the Artist

Cheryl Luteman mastered the art of faux painting over a 35 year period, creating custom finishes in exclusive settings across the USA. She apprenticed under renowned artist, Kevin Rutan at Fe Fi Faux, Inc in Greensboro, NC.

Cheryl colaborates with her clients- turning verbal concepts into visual realities. She is an excellent colorist. Upon estimate approval, Cheryl is happy to create custom samples. She further hones on-site mock-ups, always aimed at creating the perfect backdrop to her client’s decor.

Working mainly in high-end residential, Cheryl also restores finishes in historic banks, museums, hotel lobbies and theaters. As a Fe Fi Faux employee, she helped restore The Carolina Theater of Downtown Greensboro. Cheryl repaired the nationally listed theatre’s damaged faux staggered block, painstakingly color-matching to the original 1927 wall pattern of the lobby, mezzanine and main auditorium.

Cheryl takes pride in having worked in the homes of numerous prestigious clients: Don Gibson- renowned Country music songwriter ("I Can't Stop Loving You", "Oh Lonesome Me"); Steven J. Cannell- Television producer, writer & novelist (The Rockford Files, The A-Team & The Commish), and, Chris Columbus- Film director, producer & screen writer (Gremlins, Home Alone & Harry Potter).

She's adorned high-end furniture showrooms in the US and abroad, including: Baker, knapp & Tubbs, Drexel Heritage, Henredon and Theodore Alexander. Cheryl is honored to have played a small part on projects of legendary interior designers Dan Carithers, Dorothy Travis, Sydney Murphy and Frank Pennino.
